Practice Areas

Talia Profit practices in the areas of civil litigation, insurance, personal injury, municipal liability, health law and class action lawsuits.  Fluent in both English and French, she conducts her practice in both official languages

Professional Experience

Born in Waterloo, Ontario, Talia grew up in Prince Edward Island.  She received her BSc in Neuroscience in 1999, her BA in French in 2001, both from Dalhousie University, and her LLB in 2004 from the Université de Moncton. She represented her law school in the National Laskin Administrative and Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition in her second year, the National Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in her third year and was the recipient of various bursaries.

Talia articled with Barry Spalding and remained with the firm after being admitted to the bar in 2005.  She is a member of the Moncton Area Lawyers Association, the New Brunswick Law Society, the Association des juristes d’expression française du Nouveau–Brunswick, and the Canadian Bar Association. Talia is also on the national CBA Executives of the international and insurance law sections, the provincial CBA Executive of the Solicitor’s Journal, the secretary and treasurer of the provincial CBA Young Lawyers Conference, and the second vice-president on the Board of Directors for the Multicultural Association of the Greater Moncton Area.

Outside the Office

Talia involves herself in the surrounding community, volunteering at the YWCA family law clinic and the Multicultural Association of the Greater Moncton Area, judging moot court competitions at law school, officiating youth swimming competitions, and a member of the Université de Moncton Masters Swim Team.  Talia currently lives in Moncton with her husband Neil Young.
