Professional Experience

Born in Saint John, Duane received his B.B.A in 1984 and an LL.B. in 1987 from the University of New Brunswick. After being admitted to the New Brunswick Bar in 1988, he began working at Barry Spalding and later became a partner in the firm. Professionally, Duane is affiliated with the Canadian Bar Association, the Barristers' Society of New Brunswick, and the Saint John Law Society.

Outside the Office

Duane has been involved in his community, and with numerous advocacy groups, since the start of his law career including chair of the Kidney Foundation and board member for Second Stage Housing, Epilepsy New Brunswick, and First Night Saint John. Currently, he is co-chair of the Mental Health Tribunal.

Duane is married and boasts a love of sports. As a father of three, much of his time is devoted to coaching basketball and soccer.
