Practice Areas

Brenda is a senior and respected practitioner in the area of family and estate law. In addition to traditional litigation and negotiation of family law matters, her practice includes collaborative law and the ability to act in the capacity of mediator or arbitrator in cases where alternative dispute resolution is sought.

Professional Experience

Born in Fredericton, Brenda received her B.A. in 1976 and her LL.B. in 1981 from the University of New Brunswick. Admitted to the bar in 1982, she has been a course leader and lecturer for the Bar Admissions Course; member, chair, co-chair and presenter for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs; and was involved with the Practice and Procedures Committee of the Queen's Bench Family Division Judges and has served on the Rules of Court Revision Committee. In 2001, Brenda was awarded the distinction of Queen's Counsel. Currently, Brenda is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of New Brunswick, and the Saint John Law Society.

Outside the Office

Brenda is a member of the University of New Brunswick Research Ethics Board.

Brenda paints in her spare time, owns two horses and is passionate about the equestrian sport of dressage.
